We're working in partnership with this long standing, premium fashion business in the search for an Assistant Merchandiser for their Head Office Wholesale Team. This role will suit you if you're a logical and influential problem solver who is well versed in critical path management and supplier liaison.

In this highly rewarding and challenging role, your duties will include;-

  • Critical path management, with a focus on avoiding stock delays and improving efficiency, ensuring key dates are achieved

  • Monitoring offshore production working to key critical path dates

  • Managing timelines during business peaks and production

  • Progress chasing orders to ensure timely deliveries

  • Weekly replenishments, balancing availability of customer warehousing constraints

  • Working closely with buyers, keeping them updated

  • Monitoring stock and sales to ensure smooth flow of stock

 

Key skill requirements for the role;-

  • Experience in an online FMCG, retail / brand head office or stock based business (ideally clothing related)

  • Excellent numeracy, strategic and analytical ability

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel

  • Experience gained in an MA or MAA role for either retail or wholesale

  • Working with Design to technically develop licensed / unlicensed product ranges (garments and accessories) in line with seasonal stories and themes

  • Take garments through the sealing process, from design sign off through to production 

  • Manage testing procedures, ensuring regulations and safety standards are met

  • Preparation of detailed specifications and tech packs

  • Working with Far East sources on PD and production methods

  • Playing an active part in fit meetings and range presentations

  • A good commercial eye for fit and quality, enthusiasm and drive plus knowledge of the childrenswear sector are a must

In this role your duties will include;-

  • Taking samples through the sealing process, providing technical knowledge around production techniques, quality and fit during the development process

  • Attending fit sessions, to explain fit issues and ensure all customer requirements are actioned.

  • Understand size specs, grading rules, garment detail and proportions.

  • Manage inhouse and external testing of raw materials, ensuring usability and fit for purpose

  • Providing solutions & knowledge to improve overall product make up

  • Continuous improvement of standards & procedures

  • Daily liaison with colleagues offshore & the UK

  • Building strong trusted relationships with colleagues, factories & customers

  • Solid working knowledge of testing processes

  • Accessories experience (bags and headwear) is preferred though other textile based categories will be considered

IMPORT
MERCHANDISER

We seek a Merchandiser on behalf of this thriving accessories specialist.... pro active and highly organised you will thrive on the challenge of being part of a busy, fast moving department, working in partnership with their impressive supply base as well as managing orders for their in house brands!

As an Import Merchandiser with this business, your role will include;-

  • Effective management of the critical in path in order to ensure timely deliveries of placed orders

  • Lab dip, strike off and size spec approvals

  • Price negotiations with factories

  • Daily liaison with off shore sources, predominantly in the Far East

  • Regular communication with internal and external stakeholders, keeping them updated from order placement through to bulk production and final delivery

  • Excellent organisational, communication and IT skills (Excel and in house systems) are essential

  • Working knowledge of Prima would be highly advantageous

  • You will be an experienced Import Merchandiser with a background in supply of fashion (or a similar product)
