#wearwhitetovote

Today is set to be one of the most memorable in modern day history with the US Presidential Election reaching it's dramatic climax.

Democratic candidate Hilary Clinton created a social media campaign #wearwhitetovote - but what's the meaning behind this? Well - it's a historical reference, a nod to the women's movement dating back to the early 1900's when suffragette's wore white in protest in order to win the right to vote.

It's been reported that Clinton (a passionate trouser suit devotee) has been advised on her wardrobe throughout her campaign by Vogue's fashion industry powerhouse Anna Wintour, who is herself a Clinton advocate.

And with designers such as Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan and Calvin Klein all pledging their support alongside Vogue, it really does appear that Clinton is the fashionable candidate of choice for the US.

Meanwhile, the world waits with bated breath...
